The popular “Ladies, Let’s Go Fishing!” University has added a back country trip to its fall 2012 lineup, this one slated at Port of the Islands Everglades Resort in Naples, Florida, October 13- 14, 2012.

“This is a great ‘out-there’ fishing adventure, where women can learn and go fishing in an amazing area they might not visit on their own,” commented Founder, Betty Bauman. The organization polled its 7,000 graduates for input, who voted to fish the pristine 10,000 islands, an area known for birds and wildlife viewing as well as world-renowned fishing.

Th is event differs from the traditional LLGF events. In response to the surge in popularity, kayak fishing has been added. The Friday reception has been moved to Saturday night, replaced by Friday optional swamp buggy rides, airboat tours, sunset cruise and an Everglades City dinner. A room-share program is offered for those coming solo.

Held in conjunction with support from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) through the Sport Fish Restoration Program, this event will provide a weekend of education and hands-on fishing activities, including hook removal, release techniques and more. The University provides an opportunity for the ladies to use their newly-acquired skills to fish inshore or nearby offshore on their choice of a group boat, back country boat or kayak fishing. The age for participants includes teen females age 16 and up when accompanied by an adult female.

Early bird registration is $89 and includes instruction, use of equipment, hands-on training, networking reception and fundraisers, certain meals, goody bags and more. Fishing adventure fees are listed on www.ladiesletsgo fishing.com.
