Coastal Angler Magazine was on deck to witness the tremendous turn out for Ben Sargent and his book promotion event at Bass Pro Shops as well as the New England Kayak Fishing Striper Shootout IX.
Ben Sargent’s first cookbook, The Catch, was released July 30th and is available at mass retailers nationwide. The book promotion was a real crowd pleaser with over two and half hours of nonstop cooking action and entertainment by Ben Sargent and his team.
Ben served up generous portions of a Louisiana-style seafood boil to an estimated two hundred happy anglers and outdoor enthusiasts during the event. Everyone enjoyed succulent shrimp, snow crab legs, corn on the cob and hand-craft ed sausages, all cooked up in Ben’s special boil blend including beer, Old Bay seasoning and lemons.
And with all the great fishing tournaments happening this year one of the highlights has to be spending time with the New England Kayak Fishing group on Winter Island in Salem for their 9th annual Striper Shootout. If you haven’t experienced kayak fishing yet and want to do so this is group to seek out.
