Coming off a record-setting 2016, which saw more than $21 million in inventory sold, The Wharf Boat and Yacht Show returns to Orange Beach, Ala. March 23-26. In addition to record sales in 2016, the show drew over 12,000 attendees and 39 dogs.
Local dealers and national manufacturers will display 160 in-water yachts and more than 600 boats on trailers totaling over $110 million dollars of marine inventory, a record for this show at The Wharf.
The Wharf Boat and Yacht show continues to expand its footprint within The Wharf, the premier destination resort and marina on Alabama’s Gulf Coast. This spring, the show has added 50,000 square feet of new outdoor exhibitor display space. This additional space has created an opportunity for new and existing dealers to showcase the latest boat models, as again this year all of the exhibitor space has been sold-out for months.
“2017 marks a year of tremendous growth for our show,” said Chris Miller, of The Wharf Boat and Yacht Show. “The success of this show is a result of our exhibiting dealer partners delivering the absolute best of the best in the boating market to Orange Beach. Our partnership has transformed this show, in just a few short years, from a local show to a regional event that attracts boat buyers from the entire Southeast and beyond.”
“The Wharf Boat and Yacht Show continues to expand, and with that growth this show has shifted the purchasing habits of boat buyers from not only the Gulf Coast but places like Atlanta, New Orleans, Nashville and the Florida Panhandle,” said Andrew Jones, a partner with American Marine Brokerage. “Buyers now know, the boats they are interested in are available in Orange Beach.”
This year The Wharf Boat and Yacht Show will also grow into the Orange Beach Event Center with 20,000 square feet of climate-controlled exhibit space. The Orange Beach Event Center is located next to the new Marriott SpringHill Suites Hotel at The Wharf. Inside the Event Center will be the Lifestyle & Marine Center, which will feature merchandise and seminars for boaters and fishermen as well as something for everyone who enjoys the Gulf Coast lifestyle.
Throughout the four-day event, there will be fishing and boating seminars, kids art classes as well exhibitor displays from world’s best boating, fishing, watercraft, marine electronics and accessory companies. There will also be live music daily and the Triple Crown Fighting Chair Challenge raising money for St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
