What’s Cookin at Marina Pez Vela
A wonderfully active July and summer travel season has once again reaffirmed the growing importance of the Marina in our local and international community. The Festival de Agua, July 4th celebrations, Father’s day events and host of tours, services, and restaurants here continue to combine to make Marina Pez Vela a MUST SEE destination for anyone visiting the area.
September and October, while normally thought of as our slowest months, are not going to disappoint as we continue our growth and gear up for one of the most magical seasons on the Pacific Coast, the arrival of the whale migration to the region. Here are some important updates on new happenings at MPV and an overview of the amazing whale watching packages which are being offered in this coming season.
We welcome the Falafel Bar which is opened on the waterfront level. Amazing vibe, great cuisine and prices allow everyone to get a unique and healthy experience on site. We are also excited to be announcing the aperture of Mademoiselle, our full service Beauty Salon which is scheduled to be opening soon on the main plaza level. Stay tuned for formal opening event!
On our tourism and service plaza, we proudly welcome Sansa, Ocean King, Rancho Tucanes, Sunset Sails, Aguas Azules, Manuel Antonio Jetski and American Exports. The area’s finest, safest and best tours are easy to reserve and discover on any visit.

Upcoming activities include Costa Rica’s Independence Day, which is always a wonderful celebration where our Marina family celebrates with our local community. Don’t miss the opportunity to join in the traditional parade of faroles and presentations from the local school. It is one of the most special elements to be able to share in the culture and national pride of the Costa Rican people in this public space. Every year the crowds of locals and tourists who enjoy this event grows. We celebrate here on the 13th, a few days early to respect the larger municipal parades and allow everyone to get a double dose of the celebrations!
Halloween and Dia de las Mascaradas is yet another cross cultural celebration here at MPV. Last year we combined Dia de las Mascaradas with Halloween for one of the best parties of the entire year! There is no better place to enjoy a safe and exciting block environment, trick or treating for the kids in all of our commercial plazas, games, prizes, cimaronas in the traditional Costa Rican style and a whole lot of fun. Come in costume and share in this amazing celebration which was one of the most popular events of all of 2015.
