I had an absolute best-case scenario kind of day with good client Andy and his 7-year old son Jack. We immediately started off our day ACwith some of the most incredibly intense large Seatrout action I’ve ever witnessed, with both Andy and Jack (all on his own) catching many fish well over the slot. After Jack had his fill of tugging on Trout, Ladyfish, Jacks and more, he wanted to go and try his hand at catching a Snook – which we did successfully. While poling around some absolutely gorgeous terrain looking for more Snook to tangle with, we found some baby Tarpon to fool and took full advantage of their high-flying acrobats; a quick photo and a healthy release and high fives all around. With summer thunderstorms being all too common, our last move of the day took us to the dinner grounds – where Jack proudly outfished dad and triumphantly brought home the bacon to mom that evening. I love the time I get to spend with role model fathers like Andy and to sit back and watch the joy of an awesome kid like Jack experiencing a great day of fishing. Priceless.
