Hi Coastal Anglers, Capt. Rodney from down here in the beautiful Everglades National Park. Fishing this past month has been awesome with plenty of redfish and snook being caught in the Islands, as well as the edge of the Gulf. The weather has been very hot, so you want to get out early, not just for a better bite, but also better for the humans out there trying to get that bite. Tides are critical this time of year with my favorite tides being a high falling or a half-up rising. With the hot water we have been having the best action on shrimp-tipped jigs, with both chartreuse and gold flake working the best. My favorites are Mr. Wiffelure and Zman in the same aforementioned colors. Trout have been a little on the slow side in my area, but snook and reds are more than making up for them. As the water cools down, fish will start to move into deeper water, but for now concentrate your efforts on the shallow oyster reefs and outside points. Remember the best way to see what I do on a daily basis is to follow me on Everglades Backcountry Experience on Facebook. Till next time tight lines my friends. Capt. Rodney Raffield
