Inshore

Pompano fishing once again has been the main target. We had a few good days, but the large schools have not pushed into the river yet. As usual fishing the edges of channels inside the river around Sailfish Flats will produce pompano, ladyfish and jacks. The trout fishing continues to be good using a DOA shrimp around area flats. The redfish have picked up as well in northern parts of the Martin County. Look for sand potholes in area grass flats to bring a few of these fish to the yak. Finally Snook fishing in the Stuart area has been producing good numbers around the bridges at night. Try using DOA’s “Big One” Terror Eyz or a feathered jig bounced on the bottom.

Offshore

The offshore fishing is finally picking up again after a dismal 3-4 weeks. Kingfish, Mahi and sails have all been hitting the yak in the Boynton Beach area. Goggle eyes have been the best bet, but don’t overlook a good ole dead sardine on a triple j hook rig for dolphin and kingfish. The kings and dolphin have been running small, but there is plenty of action. Focus your attention in 100-130’ of water. In the next month action should continue to get better and hopefully the average size will increase as well.
