Recently, I had the pleasure of finding a brand new tackle shop in Fort Lauderdale. After a tip from our friends Kirk and Kody at Preferred Marine, I stopped by SaltH2o Custom Tackle to introduce myself and met the owner, Kevin ONeal. Walking through the front door, it was immediately apparent that this wasn’t your average tackle shop. Kevin has created an atmosphere that screams hardcore fishing, yet whispers have a seat and let’s talk some fishing over a cold draft brew. Whether you are a beginner that’s just entered the game or a seasoned salt with years of experience, you can find what you need here.
Kevin knows his stuff and it shows. Having worked for a number of years under some of the best in the business to polish his skills, he decided it was time to take the plunge and open his own store. Located in The Quay Plaza on the north side of 17th St. Causeway, one block west of the bridge, SaltH2o offers everything from fresh and frozen baits to custom made deep drop and high speed trolling rods.
