Alabama Gulf Coast: February 2014

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]here were a few people fishing in January. There were catches of bull redfish nearshore. Some nice triggerfish were caught on 6 hour charters. February should give a little warmer weather and more activity. Bull redfish should continue to be caught nearshore. Triggerfish season opened January 1st and there are some very nice ones being caught within 20 miles on the 6 hour charters. What an
awesome tasting fish. Vermillion snapper and white snapper should be biting as well. Spanish mackerel should appear in February or March. These fish are caught nearshore. We should see a few more anglers on the offshore trips in February. Expect to catch amberjack along with snapper and triggerfish on the full day charters. Let’s go fishing!
