Breaking News: NOAA Proposes Fishing Closure for 55 Species Off Florida Coast
NOAA Fisheries has unveiled Amendment 59 to the South Atlantic Snapper-Grouper Fishery Management Plan. This amendment aims to ban bottomfishing for 55 species, including red snapper, along significant portions of the Florida Atlantic coast. The proposed Secretarial Amendment has been developed by NOAA Fisheries as part of a legal agreement mandating actions to halt the overfishing of red snapper in the South Atlantic.
