Well October is here! Just had some close calls with Dorian, but we dodged a bomb, not a bullet, unfortunately our friends in the Bahamas were not as lucky. This October we will be participating in the 2nd Annual Southwest Fall Open which has decided to donate all profits to the relief efforts in the Bahamas. Be sure to get in this one at only $100 per angler and show support for so many in need. Here in Naples, the pressure dropping from the storms heated up the bite. We got in a lot of fishing time while waiting for the storms to arrive. With the winds blowing from the east, we had flat, calm, beautiful weather. At the beaches the snook have been big and the bite has been on fire. We have seen the big snook move inshore. Lots of redfish moving between the backwaters and the passes, as well. A few weeks ago, we had a family of dolphins hanging by the boat, which as we all know halts any type of catching as they seem to steal anything you catch. Suddenly we were just sitting down to eat something on our trip when the dolphins started chasing something big! All of a sudden, a tarpon nearly jumped into our boat trying to escape the dolphins! We got to see him clear as day as he leaped from the water a few more times attempting to get away. Not sure how it ended, but it was a crazy thing to see! You never know what to expect in the backwaters! Now booking for Season, so be sure to get your spot early!
