Ferry Bay, Exuma –Turquoise Cay Boutique Hotel. About 10 minutes south of George Town, perched at the edge of a bay, with stunning views of the waters to Moriah Harbour Cay (a nature reserve with offshore islands), this lovely property, (the former Peace & Plenty Bonefish Lodge), is in the process of being totally renovated. The eight room, hotel and restaurant, was bought with a vision of adding a luxury element to the island with all upscale touches. The restaurant called ONE80—with an 180 view of the water —will be opened first; featuring an international fusion cuisine, with a focus on Peruvian and French…what an interesting combination. Plans are also in place for low-key yoga retreats to action sports like kite-surfing and paddle-boarding.
While their website and Facebook Page don’t contain a lot of information or photos as yet—here are a few nice shots indicating the beauty of location and attention to details–to tease your imagination. Haulover Bay-Rolletown, Exuma-Frangipani Italian Restaurant and Lounge, just six miles from George Town; driving towards Little Exuma or, a 15 minute by car or cab ride, is well on its way to a formal opening; the bar is operational, dining furniture in place, menus designed, tasted, and ready to be served, according to owner, Davide Orlando and his chef- wife—with a three star Michelin restaurant background to her credit—who moved to Exuma from Rome with their entire family.
