T he spring flounder fishing has been steady, although not a lot of big doormats, fish in the mid teens have filled stringers to the limit in a couple of hours. Stripers have been slamming live macks anywhere that current meets structure, lately however, most fish that are cut for the table have been feeding on lobster and crabs. For us kayak anglers, that means fish the rocks. With the heat waves, nighttime is the right time. Reports of squid are coming in from all over, again nighttime around lights has been productive and in the same places during daylight with a squid jig on the bottom are giving up calamari. So get out there and wet a line.
