The Cheeky Schoolie Tournament is set for May 21st on Cape Cod. Now in its 5th year, this grass roots oriented tournament has become one of the largest saltwater fly fishing tournaments in the country. With over 230 registered participants, the event is sure to be an appropriate welcoming to the hard working schoolie striped bass making their way up the eastern coastline. There will be a welcome party for event participants on Friday, May 20th, followed by a full day of tournament angling on Saturday. Sponsors will be in town for the event, including the likes of Costa Del Mar and Simms Fishing.
The Cheeky Schoolie Tournament is a low barrier to entry, grass roots tournament designed to encourage the interest and growth of saltwater fly fishing. It is a wade fishing only, fly fishing only, catch-and-release only tournament hosted by Cheeky Fishing, Boston-based manufacture of fishing reels.
