We kicked off the 2026 Tournament Season by taking the first Place win on Chickamauga Lake here in Tennessee. Fishing in those summertime conditions are rough, But God is good and he blessed Chris Sims and I all day that day.
We caught are biggest Crappie early and with the temperature being so hot you all know the crappie this time of year are slow and sluggish and must be coerced into biting any bait. We caught our winning fish early and took care of them throughout the tournament day to get them back to weigh in Alive.
Hats off to each and every Angler that fished that very hot day and congrats to all the winners. As always get up and get out there and make those memories and enjoy all that the creator has given us.
“HOT” OFF THE LAKE. No pun intended.
Aug 29th Chickamauga Lake Results
The morning started out calm and cool. It didn’t end that way!!! The boat traffic was insane and the heat drained us all. Most teams reported catching fish with a lot of small fish, which is typical for Aug crappie fishing.
The team that bested the field and took first was the team of Chris Sims and Perry Hensley with a great bag of 7 fish weighing in at 8.78 lbs. They also won the George Hamby Painting big fish pot with a 1.75 lb. slab.
Taking second place today with a 7 fish bag weighing 8.28 lbs. was the team of Joel Nash and Matt Xenos.
Rounding out the top three was the team of Mike Johnston and Tim Smith with a 7 fish sack of 7.77 lbs.
Congrats to the three teams who won the roll the dice giveaway winning bait pop, Bone Head Tackle jigs, and two ACC Crappie Stix.
Congratulations to the winners and to all the anglers who came out and fished. Our next tournament will be held on Tellico/Loudon and will be Sept 19th out of Lenoir city canal ramp. It will be a two-lake event and anglers will draw their lake on the morning of the event. It’s going to be fun! See you all then.
Tight Lines and God Bless.
