CHRISTIAN TEAM TRAIL BASS TOURNAMENT | Jan. 2, 2016

Fifty boasts with 98 participants launched from Okee-Tantie Marina and braved the wind and threat of rain to bring in some excellent catches of fish. Eleven teams weighted in with a five-fish limit of fifteen pounds or better.
Kail Stevens and Drew Wanczak bested the field with a five-fish limit weighing in at 24.38 lbs. They also captured big fish honors with an 8.33 lbs largemouth. Second place went to the team of Larry Wise and Blake Everett with a weight of 21.14 lbs while third place went to the team of Keith and John Pierce with a weight of 19.67 lbs.
Upon weigh-ins the crowd and participants were treated to cold drinks and all-beef hot dogs provided by Oakview Baptist Church and professionally prepared by city councilman Noel Chandler. The participants were also treated to door prizes provided by local businesses including Eliâs Western Wear, Parrott Island Grill, World Famous Sam Griffin Lures, Fast Break Tackle, Garrardâs Bait & Tackle Shop, and Arbyâs Restaurant.
The Christian Team Trail is an evangelism ministry of Oakview Baptist Church using the biblical example of fishing to bring people to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Jesus said, âFollow Me and I will make you fishers of menâ.
