Coastal Kids Fishing Report: January 2019

Hello Anglers,

Christopher and Mom with Tuppen’s founders, Bud and Marilyn Tuppen

I have been busy with school and have not done a lot of fishing. I did go to the Lake Worth Fishing pier with my friends Jordan and Ryan and had a good time. I also went to the West Palm Beach Fishing Club BBQ. This is a year-round family tournament of who caught the biggest fish in each fish category. This is a very fun event because they give many awards to families. We saw the Tuppen’s founders, Bud and Marilyn Tuppen there. They are such an inspiration to all of us! I was there to represent Tuppen’s, as I won 1stplace biggest black fin tuna. My Dad and the rest of the crew of Team Tuppen’s were in North Carolina fishing the SKA NationaIs. I had caught a 28-pound tuna and that was the biggest one caught. I won a nice Penn reel and decided to give it to my best friend Jordan who was with me, as he loves fishing as much as me and didn’t have a nice reel. The event had different “games” you could play. They had a bounce house, a baseball station, and a sponsor was giving out footballs. My friend Jordan and I had a lot of fun throwing footballs everywhere. This month, I also went pier fishing with the same friend, Jordan and his brother. We didn’t catch much when we went, but we had a lot of fun. My Dad showed us where the best spot was, but there was a school of needlefish right underneath the pier. We caught around 5 needlefish and a couple grunts and mangrove snapper. Even though we didn’t catch a lot of fish, it was probably one of the most fun fishing trips I have done. It’s always a good time when you are fishing with friends!!
