Fishing with the Bachelor

By Captain Dean Murphy:

I have lived in Naples since I was 7 years old. Since that time, I have come to discover that there are plenty of activities to enjoy in Southwest Florida. Among these are shopping, dining, beaches, water parks and movies. But let’s face it, nothing beats a day on the water. Locals and visitors alike can agree, fishing offshore in the beautiful Gulf of Mexico is a great way to spend a leisurely day.

Aside from a causal fishing trip, fishing charters are also a great way to celebrate something special. Celebrating a birthday or graduation? How about a bachelor or bachelorette party? Skip the typical bar scene or house party and take your celebration out on the water with a fishing charter – there is truly nothing like it!

As a Pure Florida captain, I’ve been privy to all types of fishing excursions that provide a unique fishing adventure, but one of the most unique and enjoyable is the bachelor party fishing trip. Imagine a crystal-clear Southwest Florida day with your best buddies competing for the biggest and best catch of the day. Pure Florida’s M/V KUDU or M/V Lady Brett are ideal fishing vessels for a bachelor party fishing excursion.

Departing from Tin City in Naples, The M/V KUDU is a 43- foot boat that can accommodate up to six passengers. The boat is luxuriously equipped and armed with twin Yanmar diesel engines, perfect for picking up speed in the open waters of the Gulf. Once offshore, guests can fish for the ultimate catch – the Goliath Grouper. What better memory to make with your best man and groomsmen than hauling a 400-pound behemoth up from the depths of the pristine Gulf waters? Talk about a unique experience! lf you happen to have a larger party, then the 45-foot M/V Lady Brett is perfect for your bachelor bash with the certifications to carry up to 20 passengers.

Regardless of the vessel you select or the time of year, consistently good fishing is the norm in the Gulf of Mexico. Whether your group has their sights on fishing for red or gag grouper, mutton or snapper such as mangrove, yellowtail or lane, the Pure Florida crew will take you to the best fishing spots and prepare the proper bait and tackle.

Coolers are always available on the boats per request so you can bring along your preferred beverages and, of course, food. If you’re visiting from out of town, our staff can provide recommendations or assistance in coordinating your favorite lunch to have onboard. And don’t forget about dinner! When you hit the dock at the end of the trip the fun doesn’t stop there.

Once docked, the Pure Florida captain and crew will clean and bag your catch to take home or enjoy immediately. Located at Tin City, the chefs at Riverwalk and Pinchers restaurants will prepare your freshly caught catch for you as you and ymu bachelor buddies reminisce about your day at sea.

So the next time you’re celebrating a special event, consider a fishing charter with Pure Florida. And for all those grooms-to-be out there, while some may view their bachelor party as their last day of freedom, know that your custom fishing charter is here whenever you need to celebrate…or escape
