Grand River

By: Greg Knapp

The Grand River is a great fishery for steelhead during the month of December. Fish can be found throughout the whole river system and there is a good mix of fresh fish and fish that have been around since early fall. With the higher than average water flows that we have had all fall, there should be a good amount of the run above 6th street and in the tributaries.

If you are looking for some good shore access try hitting the downtown Grand Rapids area or one of the tributaries that are open. The piers down in Grand Haven can also yields steelhead, browns, and whitefish this time of year if sitting back and soaking spawnbags is something you want to do.
