Located in Deerfield Beach, Gun World of South Florida is not your typical gun store or shooting range. Recently celebrating their five year anniversary, Gun World is owned and operated by Kim Waltuch. Under Kim’s direction, this establishment has earned a reputation as the Nordstrom of gun stores and shooting facilities.
It all started back in 2010 as the brain child of Kim’s late husband, Randy Waltuch. Why doesn’t anyone open a nice indoor range? One with real air conditioning and ventilation. A fun place to shoot, with fair prices and nice people. Randy posed these questions to his friend and firearms instructor during one of their monthly trips to different shooting venues around Broward and Palm Beach counties. After subsequent conversations with family, friends and other shooting enthusiasts, Randy realized that he was just the man to bring such a facility to Broward County.
When Randy began to design Gun World of South Florida, he looked at every decision from the perspective of a customer. He would constantly ask himself, what kind of place do I want to shoot at? He wanted a place where customer service was the most important element. He wanted a place with a club like atmosphere where even novice shooters could go to learn how to shoot without being intimidated. Not everyone around Randy was encouraging about his new project, but he was a doer. A man of conviction, Randy didn’t stop until his dream became a reality when the doors opened in February of 2013. Sadly, Randy passed away suddenly in 2015. His absence is felt every day by not only his direct family, but by all that knew him. A big man, with big dreams and an even bigger heart, his legacy lives on inside the walls of the facility he designed and built.
The facilities and employees at Gun World of South Florida are second to none. Their shooting range features ten lanes at 75 feet and 5 lanes at 50 feet, is climate controlled at 72 degrees and the state of the art air filtration system insures a healthy shooting environment. With friendly and knowledgeable Range Supervisors present at all times, you can be assured of your safety. There is a large and comfortable customer lounge with a view into the range. The gun store is fully stocked with all of the latest firearms, ammunition and accessories. Their courteous and professional staff are always available to help you select the right weapon for you. They even have an extensive inventory of rental guns so you can try before you buy.
Weekly specials include Ladies Night all day on Wednesdays, with free range time for the ladies and Date Night on Fridays where couples can share a lane for just $20 from 5pm to 8pm. Professional firearms classes and training are provided by Florida Firearms Training.
