We’ll get to a bite report in a minute, but with December here and Christmas right around the corner, I thought it would be fitting to go over a couple things that could beneficial to you as an angler:
How about a shirt, a tie, or a pair of socks!? No. Just kidding! However, the angler inside of us could always use another rod and reel or two or three. Never can have too many of those. But going beyond the rods, reels, tackle or tackle bags—the normal stuff —how about something that really could be of service to them in times of need on the water—A SeaTow Membership. If they have a boat, they could use one of the many services that SeaTow has to offer. Are they already a member? Now could be a perfect time to look into renewal.
Sea Tow is basically the equivalent to AAA, but on the water. We all like to pay insurance, right? Right. Well, it’s kind of the same, because if you ever need it, it’s darn sure good to have. Break down on the water. It’s not a good feeling. For members, there are free tows, gas drops, jumps, troubleshooting, and more. Give your local Sea Tow a call to hook you up. I can’t say enough good about them.
Another gift idea for the holiday season is a membership to your local CCA chapter. In case you’re unfamiliar, CCA is the Coastal Conservation Association, a not-for-profit conservative association that gives us a voice for recreational fisherman. They have spearheaded and moved passed many things that you can be thankful for when you’re out fishing. I don’t endorse or promote any and everything that comes down the pipe. However, these couple of things should be special to everyone. I feel they are. And they would make an excellent addition under the tree. The bite report for December will be up to Mother Nature. If we have good weather, look for the trout and reds to turn on. Concentrate more in and up the rivers with a good incoming tide for best results, as they will be more concentrated. If it’s bad weather or too cold, go do some Christmas shopping. Merry Christmas!!
Be safe, and good fishing, on the nature coast ……….><> Capt. Rick FORECAST BY: . Rick Burns……………><> Reel Burns Charters www.reelburns.com or www.homosassafishingguide.com 352-201-6111 cell. P.O. Box 269 Floral City, FL 34436
