Catch your final moments of summer at the Juno Beach Pier! There is no better way to spend the last full month of summer than with catch-and-release fishing in South Florida.

Catch bonito with flashy lures. Then, use crab or shrimp bait to catch permits. As always, jack crevalles can be caught with small fish such as sardines, or lures resembling small bait. King mackerels, on the other hand, prefer shiny bait live, so lure them in with bait such as herring or pilchards.

As part of Loggerhead Marinelife Center’s Responsible Pier Initiative, the Juno Beach Pier practices sustainable fishing and recycling. The pier encourages disposal of monofilament lines in the designated recycling containers and report any accidentally hooked sea turtles.

Loggerhead Marinelife Center offers private Fishing Lessons for adults and children (ages 8 and up). One-hour lessons offered daily; based on availability. Cost: $25/angler (with gear); $35/angler with rental gear. Bait not included. Email reservations@marinelife.org to register. The Pier House features a snack bar as well as tackle, rental poles and bait.
