Lake Allatoona Fishing Report: Nov 2013

by Capt. Robert Eidson

Linesides fishing is fair but should pick back up soon. With the cold nights, the water temperature should get down below 70 degrees, and then it’s lineside time Just remember the lake is in turnover so it’s time to start pulling flat lines and planner boards early morning and late afternoon. The north end of the lake is your best bet if you want to catch a big fish. Little River up to Fields Landing has been producing some decent fish this past week. The numbers are low but the quality of fish is decent. The bigger schools of hybrids and white bass are mid lake. Kellogg’s Creek to Stamp Creek has been producing decent numbers of small hybrids and white bass for our boats the last two weeks. Threadfins fished on downrods at depths of 30 – 40 feet deep a third of the way back in the major creeks is the key to numbers right now. Fall fishing is just around the corner. I really expect fishing on Allatoona to break wide open in the next two weeks.

Trollers, keep pulling your u- rigs in the river channels during mid-day, but in the morning try pulling single bucktails in water less than 20 feet deep. This includes shallow humps out in open water.
