Water temperature: 68-71 degrees, lake level: 1 feet below full pool, water clarity: clear.
The lake is just a foot below full pool and the fish have started moving to their summer areas. Right now you can catch fish around brush with a fluke or a trick warm, and the same technique will work around docks. Some of the fish are starting to move out deep off the long points on the main body. We’ve been targeting them with dropshot 4.5″ worms and green pumpkin shaky heads.
The first couple hours in the morning I’m targeting flats and long pockets were the spotted bass have pushed the blue backs in during the night. I’m throwing a Strike King Sexy Dawg making long casts. You can also catch these fish using a fluke on a jig head and just swimming it slowly. There is still a jig bite around docks and brush. Just try a pb/j in a 3/8 ounce. The topwater bite should pick up the next couple months.
Give us a call and we’ll get out on the water.
