Mobile Bay Fishing Forecast: June 2013

Hello everyone! Summertime already. Time to dust off those rods if you haven’t already now that the kids are outta school. The weather is finally coming around and the wind is starting to lay down. The bay waters are starting to heat up and clean up. The middle of the bay going south is clearing up nicely. The gas rigs are starting to hold trout and white trout. The reefs down south, Fish river reef and Shellbanks are holding some good fish. The new reef in Bon Secor is also starting to hold trout. The flounder have started to move up the bay. They are starting to show up around north pass, the I-10 bridge pilings and along the points up the rivers. The flounder are hitting Berkley Gulp swimming minnows in chartreuse. The trout have been hitting live shrimp fished under a slip cork rig. The redfish have been spotty along the docks along the eastern shore. There are plenty of spanish mackeral and blue fish also showing up in the bays. The tripletail have also starting showing up. They are on the extreme lower end of the bay. I had a customer catch an 8 pounder and we missed on a 20 pounder. Hope to see ya on the water!!
