[dropcap]O[/dropcap]ctober already… That’s scary enough! Where has this year gone? The fall fishing is starting to pick up. The specks have finished their spawning and are on the prowl heading up the bays and into the Delta. The fishing along the flats from the eastern shore to the Mobile River has heated up!! The water is looking the best it has since this time last year. The water temps are falling just like the air temps. Longer cooler nights have the fish feeding like crazy. North Pass and Turtle ditch have been home to some non- stop redfish and some specks. The shrimp are being caught between the bridges, so everything is on target for another great fall and winter of some awesome fishing!! Start looking for birds diving on schools of shrimp fleeing from hungry trout and reds. Some birds have been spotted down around Point Clear. Live shrimp under a popping cork or any shrimp imitating bait can be lethal this time of the year. Hard baits such as a Mirrolure or Mirrodine can also produce some nice catches. Hope everyone has a Happy Halloween and some tight lines!! Hope to see ya on the water!!
