[dropcap]N[/dropcap]ovember already! Wow! The weather is cooling off and the fishing is getting HOT!!! The birds are finally giving way to hungry specks and reds. This is the time of the year that fishing is off the chain! The bull reds have been hanging around the Daphne area feeding on pogies. Just look for the feeding pelicans and get out in front. Float a live shrimp under a popping cork and hang on! The trout are starting to show up along all the flats from Blakely bar to the Mobile River. Birds are starting find shrimp falling out of the Delta with the cooler weather and the trout are thick underneath fattening up for the winter. Popping corks rigged with any shrimp imitation will prove deadly. So, if you want to try something different for this Thanksgiving, load the boat and go fill the cooler with some fish instead of turkey this year. Hope to see ya on the water!
