The cooler weather is here and the kayak fishing is really good! Trout are moving up in the rivers to the deeper holes. A mixture of top waters and soft plastics should keep you in the mix all day. A chrome mirrOlure she pup and Limetreuse Ghost Saltwater Assassin Sea Shads are what I am using. A gold Aqua Dream living spoon fi shed slowly on the edge of grass beds has been a constant way for keeping hooked up on reds. Flounder are still everywhere as well, and slow flutter bouncing a soft plastic is a sure fire way to land a few. Saltwater Assassin has a new 4.5â flavored bait out called the Lilâtapper I have been trying them out and they are money on reds and flounder.
For some screaming drag fun big bull reds and schools of jack cravelle are hanging around the passeseager to take any offering. Neither fish are good table fare but toss a bait to a passing school and hold on for a ride. Spinner baits with Saltwater assassin die dappers and hard swim baits are hard
to beat.
The IFA Kayak Tour will be holding its championship November 1st through the 3rd in Chalmette, LA. Th is catch, photo, and release tournament is free to anyone who fished three qualifying events earlier

Remember while fishing from a kayak to always think safety. We are low to the water and not alwayseasily seen. Keep a 360 degree light on at dark and low light conditions, wear a PFD, keep hydrated, and let someone know your float plan.
