GET READY: The Mighty Mighty Bosstones will be one of the many headliners at
this year’s Outside the Box music festival.

This summer the city of Boston is host to nine magnificent days of free music and performing arts during its first annual Outside the Box Festival. From July 13th-21st the festival will turn public areas like the Boston Commons and City Hall Plaza into performance spaces, with over 200 events showcasing the best of Boston and Massachusetts. The festival will feature musical acts, dance groups, theater performances and popular chefs.

“It’s my gift to the City of Boston and arts lovers everywhere,” said philanthropist Ted Cutler, creator of Outside the Box. “I want families to come out and enjoy all the great music and talented performers without having to buy a ticket. Their growing appreciation for the arts is priceless to me.”

In true festival tradition, Outside The Box not only aims to unify the community, but to make art accessible to everyone. From theater to dance, the symphony to independent bands, classic to cutting-edge – whatever your preference, Outside The Box will intrigue you, draw you in, and introduce you to new talent. All you have to do is show up, and let our diverse programming do the rest.

A schedule of headline acts is listed below. For a complete listing of performers and times, please visit www.outsidetheboxboston.org.
