From the Publisher – December 2017

CAM-FTL-DEC17It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Not only is December the month that Santa Claus comes to town, but this month offers some really good fishing in South Florida. Sailfish will begin moving through our local waters in larger numbers with each passing cold front. Be sure to keep a 20 to 30 pound spinning outfit with a pitch bait ready to go as some of the biggest dolphin of the year will be caught just offshore this month. The prevailing winds from the northeast will push baitfish closer to the beach and the dolphin will follow to pick up an easy meal. Cobia will be cruising the reefs too and will often swim right up to the boat out of curiosity. When they do, you’ll be happy you had a pitch bait ready. December is also the last month to catch grouper as the season closes on January 1st. There are some big ones hanging out on the deeper wrecks just waiting for you to drop a bait on their heads.

As we enter the Holiday season, I would like to say thank you to all of our advertisers for their support as we work on growing our free publication. Please support our advertisers and distribution partners by visiting their businesses and buying local. In closing, I would like to wish each and every one of you and your families a very Merry Christmas and all the best for a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year!

Keep reelin,
