Puntarenas Fishing Report and Forecast February and March 2016
In Puntarenas, the months February and March bring summer fishing conditions into full swing. The Queen Corvinas will be arriving in the estuary where spawning will occur. This species has a lot of pressure from many fishermen in the area. Some specimens weighing in more than 13 kilos. Please remember to catch and release the big spawning fish so that we can continue to enjoy our wonderful fishery for many generations to come.
When fishing in the estuary of Puntarenas it is very important that you know the moon phases and tides. The best condition for fishing is when the half full moons rising tide or ebb. The most recommended lures for the area are the Rapala XRap number 15s, either FT, HH or Dorado colors. This lures are ideal for the depth that they achieve, very suitable lure for Snook, Corvina and Snappers.
