Quepos Fishing Report and Forecast February and March 2016

Quepos Fishing
Quepos is where the international game fishing record for Pacific black snook was set at 59.5 lbs.

Billfish season is here! February and March are when we get the huge runs of sailfish so looking forward to some awesome billfish action! In addition to the sailfish, there should be a great shot at landing quite a few of the big bull dorado offshore, and then there is always the good chance of the big black or blue Marlin!  February and March are also the super flat months here, and the ocean is always like a deep blue swimming pool.

Inshore fishing should be loaded with roosterfish. We expect to have several shots per day at nice trophy fish.  Usually we split the inshore fishing days up and spend half the day going after nice roosterfish in the rocks using lookdowns, and then the other half of the day we will chase the schools of sardines in front of the beaches and go after nice snook, seabass, and snapper.  Inshore should also come with the occasional Jack, Spanish Mackerel and Barracuda bite. It’ll be some great days out there!
