Savannah Ward named 2014 Treasure Coast Caster of the Year

Mid-May, the fish-off for the Treasure Coast Caster of the Year took place. The top five middle school and top five high school TCC Anglers– Jake Castlow, Andrew Evans, Maxwell Higgins, Dylora Kohler, DJ Markowski, Trace Meding, Brennen Tessier, Mackenzie Tessier and Savannah Ward— took to the water competing for the coveted title.

Jake Castow reeled in a nice snapper. Maxwell Higgins brought in two sheepshead, one weighing 2.5 lbs., and Savannah Ward landed a snapper, two trout and a 10.5 lb. snook, earning her 90 points and this year’s title.

Savannah Ward is the second female and youngest to earn the title. As the title winner, she will also sit on the TCC Board of Directors for the coming 2014-2015 season.

Savannah’s prize package included a boat gear bag from Bass Pro Shop; a D.O.A. kit containing lures, koozie, a DVD, and a tournament patch; a rod and reel combo from The Fishing Center; a tackle box from LottABull Fishing Charters; and a $50 gift card to Bass Pro Shop from Treasure Coast Casters. Bass Pro Shop also gave each fish-off angler a Bass Pro travel mug and a Bass Pro lure box.
