Sierpe River Fishing Forecast July and August 2016
Rainfall for the months of July and August will cause the rivers to drain out logs and other floating objects into the sea which will serve as a refuge and attractor for small species of fish and crustaceans. These will attract larger species like the Dorados. Often ocean currents that carry these objects out 3 to 5 miles from the mouth of the river. Around Caño Island, wahoo’s will be ever present along with yellowfin tuna. Near the coast, as usual throughout the year, it will be possible to catch roosterfish, scads, yellowtail, snapper and barracudas.
With the green season already in full swing we will have access to the Laguna del Sierpe River where you can catch species such as the machaca, mangrove snapper, snook, and roncador in the fresh water. Fishing is done with lightweight equipment and is very challenging and fun.
