With the extremely hot weather and daily thunderstorms rolling in, it has made our inshore waters very cloudy and a bit more challenging to catch reds, snook and our typical target species. Many anglers may get frustrated with these conditions, but don’t give up.
There are a few tips and tricks you can do in order to land a formidable fish. Take a look around to see what kind of baitfish surround you. Mostly creek chubs, pinfish and finger mullet are readily swarming around your favorite fishing spots. So, don’t forget to match the hatch!
In these murky conditions, try a soft plastic lure with a bit of flake in order to attract the fish for a reaction strike with the minimal shine off the sun. Also, keep that in mind when utilizing topwater lures. They are very effective during these conditions so, definitely, have both rigged and ready to go.
