Lake Okeechobee is one of the best lakes to fish for largemouth bass year round. Your September Lake Okeechobee Forecast is here and it a stretch of one of the longest months of the year due to the weather. Do not let it discourage you since you can still catch the monster bass you have been in search for.

The south end of the lake is by far my favorite location to fish. It has an abundant population of largemouth bass and a multitude of other species that can provide you with a fishing adventure of a lifetime. It has a strong early morning bite this time of year before the sun begins

Bass fishing has been spectacular and the bite is still on fire. We caught a monster bass this week (late August) weighing 8.8-pounds, meaning you can catch one this month as well. The possibilities are endless when fishing this amazing Florida destination.

Great swamps for bass fishing are located mainly in the south along the west wall. The water levels have risen up to 13 feet making transportation and navigation much better for your angler. It is still advised to be highly careful when navigating the back flats and to idle when you may not know exactly where you are going. Hire a professional that can show you the locations that are best to fish in the swamp lands.

Largemouth bass get quite wise and finicky this time of year. While the weather gets extremely hot, you can still catch that personal best. It is essential to change up your method and technique and fish slower. Soft plastics are the most effective baits to catch these summer bass. The bass can’t resist this very crucial bait. Berkley Fishing has out their “Shaky Snake” that must be fished very slowly. Just lightly twitch it along and let it sit for extended periods of time. When the sun is high and the water is calm, you want to throw light natural colors especially green pumpkin.

Top water baits can be highly effective this time of year as well. Poppers can get massive explosions when fished slowly. Bluegills are being caught still even though through late August and September they tend to get slim. You can catch them with live or even on the top water plugs. Light tackle keeps the days fun and exciting. Come on down and enjoy some of this awesome action.

Rising water temperatures push many but not all the bass to seek deeper waters in the rim canal. You can target these bass with crank baits and wacky rigged trick worms. Find the schools and have a blast reeling them in.

One of the things that help the fish continue to feed is the consistent alterations Mother Nature brings in these months. Come prepared with sun and rain protection so that you can be comfortable catching the bass away. A captain will keep close eye and will be able to provide you with all the essentials you need as well. They will make sure you are safe and protected all trip long.
