St. Lucie County Deep Sea Fishing – October 2026

Miss Fort Pierce Fishing

October is here, and at the time of writing this article, it was still unclear whether we were going to have a red snapper season during the month of October. Traditionally, October is a windy and more “nautical” month. Fishing between weather systems can sometimes be a challenge, often leaving us with only a handful of really good fishing days throughout the month.

Mutton and mangrove snapper fishing continues to be productive, and we’re starting to see more lane snapper as we move further into fall. We’re also seeing some mahi mahi and several nice kingfish to spice up the action. These fish tend to migrate back offshore and school up again, and we’re seeing them in the 75- to 120-foot depth range. Continue fishing with a 12- to 20-foot leader on 40-pound-test fluorocarbon, using either a three way swivel with a bank sinker or an inline egg sinker—your choice. Cigar minnows, sardines, threadfins and grunt plugs are all good bait choices.

As we get into our annual maintenance time of the year, the Miss Fort Pierce will be heading into the boatyard for a few more changes and improvements. We’ll try to maintain our fall schedule as best we can, sailing daily at 7 a.m. for our all-day trips. The boat is also available for private fishing and cruising excursions, as well as ash scatterings at sea. There’s never a dull moment around here, and we have some big announcements coming!

If you’d like to join us, please visit fortpiercefishing.com to make your reservation or call the office. We look forward to having you aboard.

Tight lines, respect the weather, and be safe out there!
