Tournament entries are now being accepted by the Stuart Sailfish Club for its 62nd Light Tackle Tournament and the second annual Florida Sailfish Amateur Championship. Tournament events will take place December 10-13, 2015 and be hosted at the prestigious Sailfish Point Marina on Hutchinson Island in Stuart, Florida.

Tournament Chair Thomas Dyer, who is also president of the Stuart Sailfish Club, is confident the tournament will be filled to capacity long before the event takes place.

“We are so excited to be partnering with Sailfish Point and the Stuart Sailfish Club in this great tournament,” Dyer said. “We have a winning combination: one of Florida’s largest purses and the event taking place at a beautiful and exclusive community and marina. This is the only opportunity many folks will have to fish from this location.”

The tournament will hold two divisions of competitors, a professional division and an amateur division. The professional division will be limited to the first 30 entries and the amateur division will be limited to the first 10 entries. The professional division will fish all three days and the amateur division will select two of the three days to fish.

Dyer said, “The Calcutta for our Professional Division could reach $345,000 if all the professional boats participate, making it one of the largest purses in Florida. The Stuart Sailfish Club has a tradition of hosting great tournaments, but I believe this event will be one of our finest.”
