HIGHLANDS BASS ANGLERS TOURNAMENT TRAIL
Lake Toho
March 3, 2016
After a cool start to the day, the team of Griffen White and Kyle Vericella of the Fort Pierce Central Cobras put together a 5-fish limited weighing 22.375-lbs to win the 2016 TBF Florida High School Championship. This year’s event was held on Lake Toho at the Kissimmee City Park Complex and attracted sixty high school teams from throughout Florida. The pair used Dirty Jigs topped with Carolina Craw trailers to punch the weed mats. Finishing second was the team of Ian Rife and Jacob Rosser who also had the Big Bass of the tournament with a nice 8.31-lb fish. The top six teams of the tournament will advance to the South East Conference Championship that will be held at Lake Cumberland, Kentucky later this September. Among our local teams, the team of Alexander Messer and Joe Piccione of Sebring HS Bluestreaks placed 15th in the overall standings. Congratulations to all the teams that participated in this year’s tournaments. For more information on how to participate in high school fishing visit www.HighSchoolFishing.org.
