South Indian River Fishing Report and Forecast: July 2016

Trout will move to deeper flats in two-to-six feet of water and will most likely hit pigfish, D.O.A. shrimp or Deadly Combos. Look for the trout to move to the deeper edges of the flats as the sun warms up the water. Fish the sand holes on the flats! You will find the bigger fish sitting in these holes waiting on the tides to bring the food to them. It has been another banner year for big trout around the area. Jul 8th, 2016

July is here and it is cobia time. Cobia will eat most live baits such as sardines, pilchards, greenies and even mullet. Look for some good catch and release snook action in the Fort Pierce Inlet. Try drifting the inlet with a live bait fished on a 5/0 live bait hook and the right amount of lead to hit the bottom, depending on the tide. You will want to try one hour before until one hour after the tide changes. Jul 6th, 2016

Kayak Fishing Report and Forecast: July 2016

Offshore fishing continues to be good. Kingfish, mahi, sailfish and tuna are the common catches. Look for wahoo bites to pick up around the full moons in the coming months. Running baits on a downrigger anywhere from 60-to-80 feet below surface will give you a greater opportunity to land a wahoo. Jul 6th, 2016

Permit fishing along the beach will be good too. Look for a beach that has rocks along it and you will find them. Small shrimp, like a MonsterX soft rubber bait, will work great. Just sight cast for them or look for them to show themselves. Jul 6th, 2016
