Junior Division From the Shore Tournament

Treasure Coast Casters held its Junior Division monthly from the shore tournament on January 15, a little behind schedule, due to inclement weather on the day of the regularly scheduled tournament. Tournament organized said although the bite started off slow, it picked up later in the day and resulted in an assortment of fish—snook, puffers, jacks, an eel and trout—being brought in for weigh-in.

RESULTS

  1. Thomas Parramore, of Fort Pierce, 3rd grade, Fairlawn Elementary
  2. Dillon Furiato, of Port St. Lucie, 1st grade, Manatee Academy
  3. Brexton Hager, of Fort Pierce, 2nd grade, Weatherbee Elementary

The biggest fish of the tournament, a 1.8-pound trout, was caught by Emmett, earning him a trophy, goody bag, and a Fishing Center gift card.

Jacob and Christian Roldan were welcomed to the group, and two former members, John and Theresa Gilson were welcomed back.

The next Junior Division from the shore tournament will be held March 12, 2017.

Senior Division January Inshore Tournament

Treasure Coast Casters like the Junior Division, held its Senior Division monthly inshore tournament on January 15, a week behind schedule, due to inclement weather on the day of the regularly scheduled tournament.

A strong bite resulted in fish for everyone, including lots of ladyfish brought in by Ciara Franqui, and 20-plus jacks caught by Nicholas Rosario and Colt Krischke. Unfortunately, neither fish species was on the day’s tournament catch list. Colt did end up with a keeper sheepshead weighing 1.09-pounds, Andrew Evans caught a number of fish including a 1.07-pound sheepshead, and Kaitlyn Ward hauled in a few, including a 1.11-pound sheepshead.
