What a beautiful morning we had on March 24th for the Treasure Coast Casters Junior Division From Shore Fishing Tournament! We had a great turn out, too! Before we get to the results we would like to welcome 4 new TCC’s; Lucas Killer, Richard Leffew, Isabel Poulitsas and Nicholas Rosario. Lucas is the son of Ed Killer, sportswriter for the local newspaper and TCPalm.com.

Michael with his winning bluefish.

We had 14 TCC’s fishing, but only eight fish were caught and all were released. Isabel was first to the table with a jack, Dean Buxton was next with a nice flounder and Nicholas was next with a blue runner; he caught 2, with one weighing 1lb. 5ounces. Michael Rochedieu was next with a very nice bluefish that weighed 1pound, 6 ounces; he also caught a jack and an eel. Trevor Walk caught a needlefish, but unfortunately, fishing for everybody was very slow!

  • 1st Place – Michael Rochedieu – St. Anastasia – age 7 – Ft. Pierce
  • 2nd Place – Nicholas Rosario – Fairlawn Elem. – age 7 – Ft. Pierce
  • 3rd Place – Isabel Poulitsas – Osceola Magnet – age 9 – Vero Beach

Biggest Fish of the tournament went to Michael Rochedieu for his bluefish. Michael received a trophy, a signed copy of Fishing Made Easy by Capt. Rodney Smith, a Treasure Coast Casters decal and a rod & reel combo that was donated by Pat and Gwen. Also, thanks to Tammy Ward for always weighing the fish, no matter what species they are!
