Treasure Coast Casters held its September Senior Division monthly tournament September 25. With eleven species on the “fish list”, some on the list and some not on the list were caught and weighed.
In the Middle School Division, first-place went to Michael Rochedieu, a student at St. Anastasia in Fort Pierce, achieving 80 points for fish weighed. He also brought in the biggest fish of the tournament, a 7.9-pound redfish. Second-place went to Ciara Franqui, a student at Oak Hammock in Port St. Lucie, with 30 points. Third-place was taken by Nicholas Rosario, a student at Southern Oaks in Port St. Lucie, with 20 points.
In the High School Division, Andrew Evans, a student at John Carroll in Fort Pierce, took first-place with 30 points. Second-place winner was Savannah Ward, a Westwood High student, with 15 points. There was not a third-place winner.
Some of the catches this month included a Spanish mackerel and a trout by Ciara Franqui; a good number of lane snapper brought in by Colt Krischke—unfortunately it was mangrove snapper that was on the fish list; two snapper and trout by Michael Rochedieu; a small snook, several other fish not on the list, including a 3-foot shark caught by Kaitlyn Ward; two snapper caught by Andrew Evans; and a snapper caught by Savannah Ward.
Michael Rochediew received a trophy and a Fishing Center gift card for his largest fish of the tournament, Michael and Andrew received Bass Pro gift cards for their first-place wins, and Kaitlyn Ward received her tournament shirt for the Treasure Coast Caster of the Year tournament, where she placed third.
