Mark Renzenbrink of Tuttles Cigar held his 2nd Annual Charity Bass Fishing Tournament on Croton Dam on September 15th. Six teams competed for prize money for 1st and 2nd place plus biggest fish, but also for a great cause as half of the proceeds went to Equest Center for Therapeutic Riding, Inc.

Teams left the dock at 7:30 and headed for their favorite hole for four hours of fishing competition. All competitors had to be back at the launch site by 12:30. Weather was for the most part cooperative, with temperatures in the 60s with a few sprinkles. The fish on the other hand were elusive. While all teams had at least one keeper, there were no large bags on this day. The winning team, Jim Joskin and Dan Willoughby, came in with a weight of 7.11 pounds on three fish taking home first prize. 2nd place went to David Gushken and Jim Mirgerink with 6.14 pounds on three fish.

Phil Belsito won the biggest fish with a 4.1 pound bass.

A cook out was provided by the staff of Tuttle’s after the weigh-in which provided plenty of time for the fish stories to be told. All had a great time with promises to return next year.

ALL TOURNAMENT PROCEEDS WENT TO EQUEST CENTER FOR THERAPEUTIC RIDING.
