[dropcap]W[/dropcap]ith an amazing season so far, to think it’s only going to get better for May and June. May is when the big blue marlin will be the focus and billfish will take center stage. Flocks of birds will be the dead giveaway for the next two months. Good size schools of mahi and tuna will fill the Exuma Sound as well.
So with that being said, you will want to pick your poison. Small skipping baits on the surface will grab you some mahi, green and blue are always good, as well as the blue and white. Find some birds and toss a couple cedar plus way back and when you get your limit throw on a couple bigger lures and mix it up. The marlin are here so be ready for a show. Wahoo fishing will slow down quite a bit but there is always a chance of crossing paths with the speedsters.
Bottom fishing will be excellent in 60 to 80 feet and should provide a nice mixed bag of reef dwellers. Deep dropping will be strong as usual, 400 to 1200 feet and a box of squid will be all you need.
