Mercury Marine has just released two new series of outboard engines, as part of the biggest new product development program in Mercury’s 80-year history. These new V-6 and V-8 models raise the bar for the marine industry continuing Verado’s legacy as the most refined outboard engine on the water.
These engines are naturally aspirated, durable, powerful and provide options for the consumer that they have never had before.
The V-6 line up 175, 200 and 225 hp were released earlier this year at the Miami boat show to rave reviews and will replace the Verado L4.
The new 4.6-liter V- 8 250 and 300Hp also replaces the Verado supercharged inline six and the 3.0L Optimax. Both models do so in a lighter, quieter and more fuel-efficient package that is innovative in more ways than we have room to discuss in just one column.
These new engines are powerful, featuring Superior torque, higher displacement, lightest weight, and with quicker acceleration.
Mercury’s 200hp FourStroke outboards are more efficient, demonstrating 12-16% better fuel efficiency than competitors.
They are smoother and quieter through advanced engineering.
More refined including four colors, four accent colors, two midsection configurations, digital or mechanical controls, power or hydraulic steering, adaptive speed control, innovative charging, easier maintenance, and more. So many choices are available.
These engines represent the next generation in outboard engine technology. Here at Wolcott Marine, we understand these innovations and how they can add to your enjoyment of your time on the water. Whether you’re looking to purchase a new boat utilizing this amazing new technology or repowering you’re existing boat. These innovative new motors must be considered. Come by or call in and we can explain how these innovative new motors are changing the outboard marine industry and making boating more enjoyable.
