Andros Fishing Forecast – September 2012

Andros is having extraordinary weather this month (August) and maybe, because of the warm winter we had last winter, there seems to be an unusually large amount of small (young) fish in the North Bight area. Everything from bonefish to tarpon to permit, ’cudas and gray snapper, to mutton snapper and even needlefish, they are in large numbers. I do believe the warm winter of last year has had an effect on the proliferation of marine life that we are currently seeing. From all indications, this coming winter season we will have even more fish available than previous years. Whether you are headed to North Andros, Middle Bight or South Andros, fishing this coming fall season should be spectacular!

Andros, so close to Florida is literally an untapped fisherman’s paradise. While the waters are at their warmest, the fish on the flats will be feeding on the incoming tides. The schools will be smaller but plentiful. An experienced Andros guide can put you on the fish based on his knowledge of the fishing patterns. East side Andros or west, September is a gorgeous time to visit Andros and our hospitality awaits.
