The fishing around the Northern Bahamas and Berry Islands during January is nothing short of “hot”. The most highly targeted species of course are wahoo and dolphin. The wahoo fishing was excellent over the last several weeks of December and will definitely continue through January. Artificial lures are the recommended forms of bait to use. We know that many anglers do not like to share their secret spots, however, the famous The Pocket and Wahoo Point have given the best reported catches for the month so far. In January and February, expect frequent cold fronts to bring some rough seas, though bear in mind, January is considered to one of the best months for wahoo fishing. I highly recommend fishing around our chain of islands, especially Great Harbour Cay and Chub Cay. You will not be disappointed.
