CHRISTIAN TRAIL BASS TOURNAMENT | February 6, 2016

The Christian Team Trail Bass Tournament for February was held Saturday, 6 February. Weather conditions made for tough fishing as forty-seven boats with 93 participants launched from Okee-Tantie Marina and fought a brisk wind all day.
Mark Hester and Brian Baggett bested the field with a five-fish limit weighing in at 22.07 pounds. Clint Bryant and Rock Turgeon captured second-place honors with 15.95 pounds. Mike Zubricky and Luke Farmer took third place with 14.19 pounds. Big fish honors went to the team of Billy and Chad Ellerbee with a 6.8 pound lunker.
Upon arriving at the weigh-in, the participants were greeted by a crowd of spectators, family and friends. Everyone was treated to cold drinks and all-beef hot dogs provided by Oakview Baptist Church and professionally prepared by City Councilman Noel Chandler. The participants were additionally treated to door prizes provided by local businesses.
The Christian Team Trail, known in local circles as “The Christian” is not a fundraiser or for profit, but an evangelism ministry of Oakview Baptist Church, using the biblical example of fishing to bring people to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Jesus said, “Follow Me and I will make you fishers of men.” Tournaments are held on the first Saturday of the month beginning in September and ending with the “Classic” in April.

are Christ-centered and family oriented. Anyone wishing to participate in the tournament as a contestant, or any merchant wishing to provide door prizes for the events are encouraged
