Bill Dance Giant Bass Kicks Off At Pickwick Feb. 10-11

Bill Dance Giant Bass Open events will be held at five of Tennessee’s best bass lakes in 2024, and the series will culminate with a championship tournament with a date and location to be determined. The long-awaited first stop on this year’s circuit is Feb. 10-11 at Pickwick Landing State Park on Pickwick Lake.

Winter Dilemma: To Stay Or Go

Record Peacock On The Fly

Here’s a very nice fly-caught speckled peacock that was recently added to the IGFA record book. Pamela Wendhausen Salles caught the 19-pound, 4-ounce fish on the Rio Marie in Brazil after it crushed the baitfish pattern she was fishing on Sept. 9.

Record Fly Caught Striper. What Does It Weigh?

Guess the weight on this very nice fly-caught striper included in IGFA’s most recent dump of newly approved world records. At 107 centimeters, or a little longer than 42 inches for us ’Mericans, it set a new IGFA all-tackle fly world record for landlocked striped bass. Translated, that means it’s the longest fly-caught landlocked striper IGFA has on record.
